Abstract:

This research aimed to answer how is the initial formation of the graduating students of the Federal University of Goiás - Jataí Regional (UFG/REJ) to act in the Distance Education modality (EAD). Its relevance is based on the assumption that teachers are fundamental to any innovation or qualitative change that is intended in the educational field, thus, their training to work with Information and Communication Technologies (TIC) is important. For its development, it was established as a general aim to discuss, through the documental analysis of curricular matrices and the Pedagogical Course Project (PPC), how occurs the initial formation of the graduates of the undergraduate courses of UFG/REJ to work in EAD modality. The specific goals were limited to: characterize the historical aspects of the emergence of EAD in the world, Brazilian and Goian context; note, particularly based on legislation and official documents, focusing on the UFG/REJ, how the training for the use of TIC and distance learning modality is configured, verifying how this process is foreseen for teachers who will work in the modality; identify, based on the curricular matrices and PPCs of the undergraduate courses at UFG/REJ, how teacher training occurs to work in distance education. The methodological option was the qualitative, bibliographic research, with documentary analysis, through which, initially, the curricular matrices of the 11 undergraduate courses of UFG/REJ were analyzed, and then the PPCs of the referred courses. Evidence of proposals for teacher education for the use of TICs was found in three of the 11 focused courses. The means used by these courses to provide the graduate with this training consisted in the articulation between what is foreseen in the PPCs regarding the training for TIC, and the proposal of the subjects in the curricular matrices. The documentary analysis made it possible to verify that the matrices and the PPCs - with the exception of Physics, Biological Sciences and Mathematics - do not guarantee the desirable profile of the egress, since they do not offer training for the use of TIC, nor for the performance in the modality. It's also noted that the theoretical approach is superficial and incipient in the bibliographies, menus, egress profile that mention the issue of TIC.
