ABSTRACT:

The research results from an investigation that aimed to understand the links that permeate the relationship between work and health in the insertion of Physical Education teacher in the Unified Health System (SUS). Specific objectives are: to understand the constitutive links of the Brazilian health system, its totality and its contradictions; understand the relationship of Physical Education with public and collective health; analyze SUS programs/projects/policies and identify in which are inserted the profession Physical Education; understand the historical and legal course of Physical Education training in Brazil; understand how the insertion of the Physical Education teacher in the SUS materializes. For the comprehension of the object in its details, its essence, its complexity and its totality, the method of historical-dialectical materialism was chosen, in which all analyzes are guided by the understanding that what is put in reality can only be covered, without risk of reductionism, through the understanding of the material relations that gave rise to it, observing in the object all its socio-historical dynamics. The methodology used in the execution of the empirical research was data collection in the e-MEC platform (electronic system for monitoring the processes that regulate higher education in Brazil - Ministry of Education), at the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP), and National Register of Health Facilities (CNES). The data show that the insertion of Physical Education in the SUS occurs through SUS programs/projects/policies, namely, Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS), Family Health Support Center (NASF) and Academy of Health Program (PAS). With regard to training, it's identified that training in Physical Education in Brazil has been governed by the private sector, which has the predominant degree in Physical Education, and the type of education that emerges is the distance education. Regarding the number of enrollments, there is a continuous increase in the number of enrollments, entries and conclusions in Physical Education courses.
