ABSTRACT:

The text, encompassed by the research line of Educational Policies, Management and Teacher Training, discusses the public-private relationship in Higher Education in an institution in the interior of the Goiás state, in order to highlight the teaching work in the Integrated Municipal Foundation of Higher Education - Fimes - from Mineiros-GO. The research, of documentary and empirical character, of qualitative predominance, was conducted with faculty of the institution, chosen at random. As a theoretical contribution to the data analysis, authors who are affiliated with the critical perspective of education were used. The research data indicate that the teachers of the analyzed institution have alienation processes, because they work in precarious structures, and it was also noted that they do not understand the daily neoliberal practices within the institution, even though this is a Municipal Public Foundation, governed by predominantly by public standards. It was found that capital becomes overwhelming to teaching work and teaching itself, which constitutes the essence of knowledge. It was concluded that, from the 1990s, the government policies facilitated the entry of foreign capital in the field of education, especially in higher education. As a result, public resources also contributes to the advancement of large educational conglomerates. Thus, formal knowledge was trivialized and the underproletarization of teaching work promoted not only in private higher education institutions, but also in public and public-private institutions, such as Fimes. Finally, it was evidenced the working conditions of teaching professionals in the public-private Higher Education of Fimes, in Mineiros-GO, are precarious by the process of commercialization of work.
