Abstract:
This dissertation aims to investigate the impressions of the Manager and teachers about the school's mission and the use of strategic planning. The study participants were five public school teachers, one of them being the school manager, from Goiás municipality southwestern region. They helped me to know the daily life of the special education classroom and the difficulties experienced to undertake a planning that would represent their reality and meet the requirements of the school under study. The theoretical assumptions of the work were the studies on strategic planning and mission of the school, in the area of Administration, existing planning models and research on the application of these concepts and tools in the area of Education. The research is based on a qualitative analysis, which seeks to know the school reality of teachers, with the challenge of using a management tool to carry out their planning aimed at meeting or achieving the mission of the educational institution. Through this case study, using the interventional research and evaluation of the planning carried out at school, we sought to know how to relate them to the mission of the educational institution. The instruments used in the research were: semi-structured interview, questionnaires and field notes. The results of the work indicate, according to the participants' view, that although the school planning under study is not guided by its mission, the work done at school may have better results if it can have the strategic planning applied by the school team.
